Southwest Steak and Sweet Onion Salad
Southwest flavors combined with juicy steak and sweet onions makes for a crowd-pleasing salad! Enjoy it with ranch dressing or our Sweet Onion salad dressing for a flavor combination sure to wow to crowd.
Ingredients
- 1 medium sweet onion
- 1 (12 oz) package of romaine salad
- 2 lbs flank steak
- 2 ears (or 1½ cups) of yellow corn
- 1 cup of cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1 Tbsp of paprika
- 1 Tbsp of chili powder
- 1 Tbsp of salt
- 1 Tbsp of ground black pepper
- ½ tsp of cayenne pepper
- ½ tsp of ground cumin
- ½ tsp of garlic powder
- ½ cup of grated parmesan cheese
- olive oil
- ranch dressing, amount as desired
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the dried spices and 2 Tbsp of olive oil and mix well into a paste-like consistency. Toss steak in the mix, turning to coat well.
- On a hot grill, cook the steak on both sides to desired doneness.
- Remove the meat from the grill and set aside for ten minutes before thinly slicing against the grain
- Rub ears of corn with another 2 Tbsp. of olive oil and cook until a small amount of charring occurs. You can also use 1½ cups of canned corn.
- Place romaine salad in a large bowl and toss with the ranch dressing.
- Add sliced RealSweet Vidalia onions, corn, tomatoes, cheese and sliced steak.
- Top with additional Ranch dressing as desired.
