Jalapeño Popper Dip with Sweet Onions

Crowd-favorite jalapeño poppers are made super simple and convenient with this extra cheesy dip! It's spicy balanced with a touch of sweetness from our sweet onions. Perfect for game days, tailgates, movie nights, parties & every occasion in between!

Ingredients
  • 1 cup sweet onion, diced

  • 5 fresh jalapeños, chopped (remove seeds for less heat)

  • 8 oz breakfast sausage 

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

  • 1 cup sour cream

  • 1 cup pepper jack cheese, shredded

  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

  • 3/4 cup parmesan cheese, shredded

  • 1/4 cup panko bread crumbs for topping

Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Spray a cast iron pan (or one that can go into the oven) with olive oil spray. You can also put in 1/2 tbsp olive oil.
  3. Heat pan over medium heat.
  4. Add diced onions. Cook for 1-2 minutes.
  5. Add diced jalapeños. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Add sausage. Cook until brown throughout.
  7. Add pepper jack and cheddar cheeses. Stir.
  8. Add cream cheese. Mix well.
  9. Add parmesan cheese. Stir.
  10. Add sour cream. Mix well.
  11. Place in the oven and bake for 15 minutes.
  12. Carefully remove from oven, sprinkle on panko bread crumbs if desired.
  13. Place back in oven for an additional 5 minutes or until breadcrumbs are golden brown.
  14. Serve with your favorite crackers, tortillas chips or fresh veggies for dipping.
