Sweet onions have a higher water and sugar content than storage onions, making
them susceptible to bruising, and therefore, must be handled with care.

To Prevent  
Bruising • Don't throw, toss or drop bags or boxes
• Don't stack bags over 8 high
• Don't dump into display bin
Decay • Remove onions that are bruised or cut
• Keep onions dry
• Provide 70 - 75% relative humidity with good air circulation
Sprouting & Quality Loss • Maintain storage temperature of 45 - 55°F
